Mr. Justice D. Murugesan, a gold medalist and topper of a Bachelor of Laws degree from Madras University in 1975, practiced as a lawyer in Madras from 1975 to 2000. He was appointed a Judge in Madras High Court on 2nd March 2000, wherein within a span of 12 years, he disposed of more than 1.30 lakh cases. He also served as Chairman of COFEPOSA Board and President of the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy. He served as Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court from 26.09.2012 to 09.06.2013. He was appointed as a Member of, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on 21.09.2013 and he demied office in September 2018 after successfully completing his tenure of full five years. With his vast experience above, he is one of the most respected and renowned jurists in India. He will be acting as Arbitrator / Mediator in both Domestic as well as International commercial conflicts.
